Dr. David C. Nieman conducted a study comparing 8 different brands of chia seed and Mila at the Human Performance Lab – North Carolina Research Campus. The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the chia seed omega 3 fats in the blood and how the ALA converts to EPA, DHA. Watch his 12 minute video summarizing the findings here.

What does it mean when they say “organically grown chia seeds“?
Chia is a member of the mint family and therefore is not desirable to insects. Because of this, pesticides are not used (sprayed) so the crop has no residual contamination. Most chia is organically grown without the use of pesticides and is free of GMO’s, antibiotics, and food additives. It may not be certified organic if the individual farmer uses fertilizer in the soil.
Mila by Lifemax is a brand of chia which is organically grown. Watch this video to see what Lifemax is doing to ensure their brand of chia is superior to all the rest.
